I got my start in design in college working in the newspaper business, laying out pages for each week’s issue. After taking a position as communications coordinator at the local county school district, I quickly learned how to become a one-person department handling all of the school system’s graphic design, photography, videography, social media, and marketing needs. Along the way, I discovered a passion for the field of marketing that was a match made in heaven with the design skills I’d learned years before as a journalist. Now, I’m earning a master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications at the University of West Alabama and always looking to expand my marketing and design portfolio.
