Greene County School System Instructional framework
Problem: The Greene County School System Curriculum and Instruction Department had written an Instructional Framework document that would form the basis for all teaching and learning in the district. However, the document was a text-heavy Google Doc, not visually appealing or easily navigable. The district needed the information organized into a user-friendly booklet that would be engaging to all staff.
Solution: The C&I Department engaged the Communications Department in helping to present the information better. I designed a cover for the booklet that framed the plan’s 5 main elements around the school system logo. Once the cover was approved, the same style was used to lay out the rest of the document. The booklets were produced by a local print shop and distributed to all GCSS for the 2022-2023 school year.

GCSS WRAPAROUND PROGRAM BROCHURE
Problem: In 2020, the Greene County School System was a new program designed to address the needs students may have which occur outside the classroom but may affect a student’s ability to be successful inside the classroom, such as food insecurity and lack of clothing, bedding, and toiletries. As a new program, the Wraparound team need to fundraise in order to purchase supplies. After setting up its donation platform through Purposity, the team needed a handout that could be shared along with a donation solicitation presentation at local community meetings that would succinctly tell the program’s story, describe how potential donors could get involved, and show how the funds would be used.
Solution: The Wraparound team engaged the GCSS Communications Department to create such a handout, and I designed a brochure for the program. Themed in the school system’s colors of black and gold, the brochure explains how the program was founded, shares the impact of donations through Purposity, and gives a snapshot of the care programs supported by donors’ giving. The brochure was produced by a local print shop and has been distributed at many community meetings where the Wraparound team has been invited to present about their work and solicit donations.
